- The Quinborne Choir
The choir is now nearly 70 years old, having been founded in 1939, and is located on the Quinton/Harborne border – hence the name!
Quinborne is a mixed choir of some 50 members and performs concerts in the Birmingham area throughout the year, with a repertoire spanning a wide variety of music, from the major choral works to folk songs and lighter numbers. At some of our concerts, separate items are performed by the male voices.
It is not necessary to be able to read music in order to join – enthusiasm and commitment are more important. There is a warm, friendly, non-competitive atmosphere in the choir, which is especially appreciated by new members, who are welcome at any time.
The choir meets weekly for rehearsals at 8pm each Wednesday evening at the Quinborne Community Centre, Ridgacre Road, Quinton, Birmingham, B32 2TW, which is on the 103 bus route.
In addition to providing occasional social events, the choir raises considerable sums of money for various charities.
- Warley Dog Training
Our group meet every Thursday at Quinborne Community Centre. The group is run by fully qualified instructors whose aim is to help a dog owner become more responsible for their dog's behaviour.
