Monday 1st November ...

As we move into our second term of being fully open, we would like to give you an update on the centre and what we have planned leading up to Christmas and into the New Year.

Firstly, let us welcome you all back, it has been an absolute pleasure to open the centre and see so many of you return.

It has also been great to finally be able to return to the selling of bric-a-brac, books, DVDs, and cd’s, and a big thank you must go to all of you out there that have donated items to us, as always, they are very appreciated and very welcome.

Of course, we are still taking Covid very seriously and you will notice several precautions remain around the centre, these include hand sanitisers, perspex screens and a few one-way systems, we also encourage all users to still wear masks whilst in public places, however with regards to wearing them in groups and classes, please check with the group leader of any group / class you wish to attend.

With regards to groups, pretty much all of them have now returned and since opening we have had several new groups start. You can find information on all of our groups by clicking here for daytime groups and classes and clicking here for the evening groups.

As far as the centre goes, we have welcomed back our Luncheon Club and over the next few weeks will be re-starting our Bowling Group, Tablet Training & Movie Club. We will also be starting some great new groups including Painting with The Masters, Mental Health & Wellbeing Through Yoga and a Sewing / Knitting Group.

The café is also back up and fully running so why not stop by and grab and a drink and a slice of cake.

In the New Year we will be starting even more new and exciting groups which will include Chess for Adults, Badminton, Table Tennis and Card Making, we really have got it all going on.

For those interested in more structured learning courses we are currently looking into running those and we should have an update for you before the end of the year.

For the first time in over 18 months, we will also be running a coach trip, taking place on Tuesday 30th November this will be a trip to Bristol to visit their Christmas Market. Tickets cost £17.00 and can be booked now by coming to see us at reception.

Our annual Carol Concert will also be back this year, however with a twist. Due to restrictions and a degree of social distancing still being in place we will be holding it at the Reel Cinema, Quinton. The Concert will be taking place on Saturday 11th December, and we will be posting more details shortly, so be sure to stay tuned.

As you can see, we have loads planned for the next few months so please keep checking back to the website and over the next couple of weeks we will be publishing our updated activity schedule and when the courses mentioned above will be started and how to enrol on them.

Finally, we would just like to say once again “Welcome Back” it’s been far too long.
