Quinborne 75th Anniversary Open Day 2013, Press Release

On Saturday 13th July, Quinborne Community Centre held an open day to celebrate its 75th Anniversary.

The event was opened by the current Lord Mayor, Cllr Mike Leddy and the Lady Mayoress, Mrs Pauline Leddy.

The open day was a great success and was very well attended by the public.

The open day had stands and stalls from many surrounding community groups including Holloway Hall, the local family history society, Edgbaston Arts Forum and Happy Corners Childcare to name but a few.

The event also had a bouncy castle, face painter, BBQ and indoor table top sale.

Although the open day was primarily to celebrate the Quinborne’s 75th Anniversary and to introduce members of the public to the centre, it was also an opportunity to raise funds for the centre.

As Quinborne is charity run they rely of donations and support from the public to help it run so events like this are very important to them.

“The day couldn’t have gone any better, we had the Lord Mayor open the day, glorious sunshine, great support from the groups, public and staff and we managed to raise some money for the centre. It was a fantastic way to celebrate our 75th Anniversary.” said Karl Howell, Centre Supervisor.
